A: 1. Project kick‑off: collect your requirement brief, define product specification, budget and timeline; sign NNN confidentiality agreement. 2. Concept & industrial design output. 3. Electrical & mechanical engineering design, PCB & firmware development. 4. Prototyping & MVP build. 5. Hardware validation phases: EVT → DVT → PVT. 6. Regulatory certification & compliance test. 7. Tooling finalization, DFM optimization. 8. Pilot trial and mass‑production. We adopt milestone‑based reviews, and share regular progress reports for overseas clients. Any requirement change will be assessed for cost & schedule impact before implementation.

Q4: Could you explain MVP, EVT, DVT and PVT, and what are their key differences?
A:MVP (Minimum Viable Product): Early‑stage functional prototype. Core product features are realized, cosmetic appearance may not match final mass‑production standard. Mainly used for market validation, user testing and internal proof‑of‑concept. 
   EVT (Engineering Validation Test): Engineering verification phase. Verify hardware circuit, mechanical fit‑and‑assembly and core firmware functions. Identify major design defects. Samples are lab‑engineered prototypes, not fit for commercial sales.
DVT (Design Validation Test): Design frozen validation phase. Full functional, reliability, environmental and regulatory pre‑tests are completed. Enclosure molds and PCB design are locked. All design specs must pass acceptance before moving forward.
PVT (Production Validation Test): Mass‑production process validation. Produce samples using final molds, official production lines and real BOM components. Validate assembly workflow, yield rate and supply‑chain stability. After PVT approval, we move to formal mass‑production (MP).
Simply: MVP proves your idea works; EVT validates raw engineering; DVT locks your final design; PVT proves your product can be reliably manufactured in large volumes.

Q5: How does Mersain protect my intellectual property (IP), designs and source files? A: Multiple layers of IP protection are applied for all custom projects.
  1. We sign enforceable Chinese‑law‑governed NNN (Non‑Disclosure, Non‑Use, Non‑Circumvention) agreements before receiving any of your confidential specs, drawings or source files.
  2. All custom‑developed design outputs, CAD files, PCB documents and customized firmware belong to you upon full project payment. Custom‑paid tooling/molds are assigned to client ownership with formal ownership certificate.
  3. Internal access permission control: only assigned core engineers have access to your project files; all project data is stored in encrypted secure storage. Employees are bound by internal confidentiality contracts.
  4. We will destroy or return all your confidential design files upon your formal request after project completion. We will never reuse your exclusive custom design for third‑party customers.

Q6: What is the difference between OEM and ODM cooperation modes at Mersain?
A: OEM: You provide product concept / specifications; Mersain completes full custom design & engineering. All resulting custom IP, drawings and molds belong to you. Suitable for totally‑new proprietary products.
    ODM: Based on our existing proven hardware reference platform, we perform customized modification for your branding, enclosure appearance and partial functions. The base platform IP remains Mersain’s property, while your customized modifications and branding tooling belong to you. ODM shortens development cycle and reduces initial NRE cost, perfect for fast‑to‑market iteration.
We can support hybrid OEM+ODM solutions according to your business goals and budget.

Q7: What deliverables will I receive after project development?
A: Deliverables depend on your project phase. For full custom OEM projects after final acceptance, you receive: product specification document, schematic & PCB Gerber files, 3D CAD mechanical source files, complete BOM list, firmware binary (and source code under agreed contract terms), full test reports, certification test documents, mold ownership certificate (if applicable), user manual and packaging design files. You own these custom deliverables so you can choose another manufacturer later if needed.

Q8: Do you handle global‑market regulatory certification for my hardware product?
A: Yes. We coordinate third‑party accredited labs for required certifications including CE, FCC, RoHS, IP rating, medical‑related compliance and other regional standards. We build certification requirements into DVT phase testing in advance to avoid late‑stage redesign risks. Client covers the third‑party lab testing fees, while we manage the whole certification application process.

Q9: How long will a typical custom hardware project take?
A: Timelines vary based on product complexity.
    Simple IoT / wearable MVP prototype: 2‑4 months.
    Medium‑complex custom hardware from concept through DVT: 6‑9 months.
    Full project including PVT, tooling and certification ready for mass‑shipment: 9‑14 months. We will provide you a detailed milestone timeline during project quotation.

A: You can start cooperation even with a rough idea sketch. Ideally, prepare your target product function description, expected key features, target market, rough budget range and preferred timeline. After our initial consultation call, we will send you a formal project proposal with scope breakdown, milestone schedule and cost quotation. We will sign NNN agreement first before diving into deep technical discussion.
